Hot weather back. High of 33 today, although with the usual low humidity it doesn’t have that skin can’t breathe feeling. Still eating the lovely strawberries and they’ve kept beautifully. You catch their scent in the next room when the fridge door is opened. And there are a number of fruits on the passion fruit vine. Still green, but the size of plums. Yes, not all plums are the same size - but then neither are all of these.

Take a walk through the old city around six. Almost no breeze at all. The swifts are out in numbers, though, doing their usual pre-dusk swooping above the square. Astonishing birds. They spend almost the whole of their lives in the air - not nesting, but eating, sleeping, and sometimes mating. Can spend months without roosting.
Very quiet. Only a couple of restaurants open, probably because it’s Sunday. It’s not a Christian country, but as with many other countries in the near and far east Sunday is definitely the closing day. But we have a meal ready at home.
